Al Frazier started calling in 1990 and attended his first of five Callers Schools. Al and his wife Connie started square dancing in 1987 at the Yellow Rockers Square Dance Club. Al was one of those guys that had to be dragged into dancing. It didn’t take Al long to really enjoy square dancing and meeting all these wonderful people. Al and Connie have literally made friends with people from all over the world.

Al Frazier presently calls for 3 clubs in the Austin, Texas area; Apache Raindancers on Monday’s, LaGrange Roadrunners on Tuesday’s, and Kountry Squares on Thursday’s. Al teaches Mainstream through A2 program classes every year in at least one of the clubs and sometimes all 3 clubs. Al has recorded on the Red Boot Label, Alliance Records and currently is a staff Caller with Rawhide Records. He is available to Call dances anywhere in the world. Al is self-employed and his time is flexible to be able to Call dances anywhere.

Al and Connie moved to Austin in 1985 as a transfer from Lubbock with the Texas Department of Transportation. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation in 1996 and currently owns his own Computer Training and Support Business, a CMIT Solutions/computer moms franchise. Connie works for the Public Employees Credit Union and hopes to possibly retire in 5 more years. They have a son in Cedar Park and daughter and son-in-law and 2 grandchildren in Amarillo, TX.

Al is an accredited member of CALLERLAB and serves on the Mainstream and Accreditation committees. Al is a member of the Texas State Callers Association and has held every office on the Board. Al is also a member of the Capital Area Dance Leaders Association and the Heart of Texas Callers Association where he has served on these Boards as well. Al has Called at ten National Square Dance Conventions, Texas State Festivals and for other Clubs and special dances. Al currently calls 175 – 200 dances per year.

Al Frazier intends to continue to call and teach square dancing in his home programs as well as travel. Al considers himself as a full time Caller.
