Larry calls Basic through C-1; Lessons, Club Dances and Weekends. Larry also calls at Resorts, Special Dance Cruises and National Festivals, 4-5 days a week.
Larry has been employed in Business Management for 40 years and graduated from Square Dance lessons in January of 1974. Larry was the club president a year later and began calling in March of 1975. Larry became an accredited member of CALLERLAB in 1981 and since then has attended 23 conventions and the Portland, Maine Mini Lab. Larry has served on the CALLERLAB Board of Governors since 1994, the Executive Committee since 1996 and was the Chairman from 1999 through 2001. He was Chairman of the Basic/Mainstream Committee from 1992 until 1996 and continues to serve on several committees. Larry is a four time past president of the Indiana Square Dance Callers Association Inc. and a life member of the Indiana Dancers Association Inc.
A strong urge to help other callers has led Larry to become a CALLERLAB Accredited CALLER COACH. He conducts Caller Clinics, Caller Seminars and Caller Schools under the Square Stars Caller Training logo as well as one ???????? one caller coaching whenever possible.
Larry has a fourteen year association with Rawhide-Buckskin Records as a recording artist and associate producer. Combining a home program and 35,000 miles of travel keeps Larry calling and teaching 200 dances a year. Larry is the caller for the Star Promenaders (squares & rounds) and Jewel Stars (advanced program) square dance clubs of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Although Larry calls through C-1 his true love is teaching beginners and calling club level Square Dancing. Larry's greatest joy is to have someone say, at the end of the dance -- "that they had fun".
